About Prism Coastal

The Prism Coastal Project will provide a support structure through our vocational support workers to ensure that substance misuse clients can access the fullest possible range of relevant provision to meet their training and employment related needs.

The project is aimed at the promotion of vocational guidance, employment, skills training and lifelong learning opportunities for individuals who are currently economically inactive as a result of substance misuse problems.

Who do we support?

Prism Coastal is the right project for you if you are:

  • Living in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire or Ceredigion
  • 16 to 64 years old
  • Currently out of work or working less than 16 hours a week
  • Had or having an issue with drugs &/or alcohol
  • Not on the Work Programme

What do we do?

We work with people with substance misuse issues to overcome barriers to work and education, by improving self esteem and confidence we help them access education and training opportunities and work placements. Through a client centred approach the vocational support workers are able to assist people to reach and maximise their potential in respect of skill acquisition, employability and economic activity.

What will happen?

The vocational support workers will organise access to the required support to meet the participants needs. This includes access via the Local authority Coast Team to appropriate education/skills training, supported employment or work experience, support with job applications, CV writing, interview skills etc. The support will continue for as long as the participant requires it, up to a maximum of 12 months post employment.
